What's required to rent?
Be at least 21 years of age and have a valid United States driver's license.
If you do not have full coverage insurance, we are partnered with an outside company that offers their own insurance protection packages; there will be additional fees and potentially higher age requirements depending on the vehicle, contact us for more information.
Do I need insurance to rent from Shirley Luxury?
You are required to have full coverage insurance to rent directly through us at no additional cost. All we need is an insurance card to verify and we can get you approved to rent one of our amazing cars in no time. It's really that easy.
As stated previously, if you don't have full coverage insurance, we will explore another option with a 3rd party insurance provider that has higher age requirements and additional fees.
How can I reserve a car?

The form costs nothing to fill out and contains everything we need to move forward. Once your request is made, we will reach out to you as soon as possible confirming your dates, vehicle availability and total cost for the rental. Once approved, it is just $250 to finalize your reservation; this amount will be credited toward your security deposit on the day of pickup. Please keep in mind the $250 is non-refundable in the event of a cancellation.
What's the security deposit?
All rentals require a fully refundable security deposit of $1,000. This amount will be reimbursed within a few days (sometimes same day) after your rental is returned without incident. In rare cases, some individuals may have insurance deductibles higher than $1,000 in which case the security deposit will match your deductible amount. For example, if your collision deductible on your insurance policy is set to $2,500, your refundable security deposit will be $2,500.
Are there any credit checks?
No, we do not run any credit checks.
Do you accept cash?
Yes, cash will save you from any processing fees you'd otherwise be paying using other payment methods. We still do require a card on file for contractual purposes.
Do you accept cryptocurrency?
As of right now, we only accept Bitcoin when paid with crypto. But yes, BTC is welcome and also does not require a 3% service charge.
Are there any extra fees?
Unlike other big-brand rental companies, we are fully transparent with our pricing and aren't going to surprise you with any over-the-top, unexpected fees. Each rental has a one-time preparation fee of $95 which covers documentation as well as ensures the vehicle receives a full detail and is sanitized & cleaned spotless upon your pickup. Other than that, Defined in N.C. Gen. Stat. § 105-187.1(a)(7) we must charge 8% sales tax to your total. There is also a 3% service charge to any credit card payments; this can be avoided by paying Cash, Apple Pay, Zelle or Bitcoin.
Can I add an additional driver?
Additional drivers are typically automatically covered during your rental if they are an active driver on your insurance policy. For those on a separate policy, you are allowed up to 2 additional drivers on your rental with a small fee of $25 per person. They must also meet the minimum age requirement and be able to provide everything requested from the primary driver as well (license & insurance).
Am I restricted to a certain amount of mileage?
Our rentals comes with a base rate of 100 miles per day included, however we do offer larger mileage packages at a discounted rate for those who intend to drive further distances. We also offer long-term rental packages with less included miles which allows us to provide super low pricing on extended rentals!
How far can I travel?
You are restricted to driving no further than half of your included mileage to ensure you have enough mileage to make it back to our location. If you know you will be driving outside of the included mileage, please discuss this with us prior to your trip to receive discounted pricing on additional mileage. Do NOT under any circumstance travel outside of the country, the vehicle will be remotely disabled and your deposit will be fully retained with no refund. Additionally, you will be responsible for any additional expenses incurred in recapturing the vehicle.
Do you offer delivery?
Yes, rates vary based on location. Charlotte Airport delivery is $120.
What are your hours of operation?
We are a 24/7 service and can cater to your schedule if planned ahead. Want to pick up a car at 11:00 PM? We got you covered! Our office doors are not open 24/7, as we are open by appointment only. It is very unlikely your phone call will be answered in the middle of the night; in which case we will reach back out to you as soon as possible the next morning.
